We were reminded of the importance of roses in Spain on a visit to the Generalife and Alhambra gardens in Granada

Increasingly it makes sense to maximise the ecological growing in our gardens of as many culinary/medicinal herbs, edible flowers, vegetables and fruit as possible and use green waste to feed meat producing organisms such as snails, poultry and rabbits and achieve the Slow Food objective of all of us being able to eat quality, locally produced food which gives a fair return for the growers efforts. That return for the home gardener is healthy gastronomic and economic eating 365 days a year.
